The METRUS SV test bench series comprises specialized safety valve test benches designed for pressure, leak, and functional testing of safety valves in industrial applications. The systems cover a wide range of valve sizes, from small to large-scale safety valves, and enable precise testing under realistic operating conditions.

The SV series is primarily used for setting the opening (set) pressure, seat leakage testing, and functional verification after maintenance or repair. Depending on the configuration, the systems support test media such as compressed air, nitrogen, or water and cover pressure ranges up to 600 bar, depending on the application.

In industrial environments, safety valves present specific testing challenges due to their rapid and controlled opening behaviour under pressure. The SV test benches are engineered to meet these requirements through precise pressure control, robust clamping systems, and highly repeatable test procedures. Advanced variants such as Pop-Action systems allow the realistic simulation of dynamic valve opening behaviour under high-flow gas conditions.
