Fully Automated Test Systems

Fully Integrated Testing Processes Without Manual Intervention

METRUS fully automated test systems are designed as part of a higher-level production and automation environment. Unlike semi-automated solutions, not only the testing process but also loading and unloading, order processing, and communication with higher-level systems can be fully automated.

Each test system is individually developed and precisely adapted to the customer’s production processes, interfaces, and automation requirements. This allows the test bench to be seamlessly integrated into existing or newly planned production lines.

How the Test System Works

The test bench is connected to the higher-level production control system. Relevant order and test data are transferred and processed digitally. Loading and unloading of the test specimens can be carried out, for example, by an industrial robot or another automated handling solution.

Once the test specimen has been positioned, the defined test cycle runs automatically. The system performs the specified tests, records and evaluates the results, and documents the relevant data. Depending on the automation concept, the entire process – from positioning the test specimen to transferring the tested product to the next stage – can be completed without manual intervention.

End-to-end automation enables more efficient testing processes, reduces manual operations, and helps ensure consistently high process reliability. Depending on the project, robots, conveyor systems, ERP, MES, or other higher-level systems can also be integrated.

Benefits

  • Automatic loading and unloading
  • Fully automated and repeatable testing processes
  • More efficient production processes through end-to-end automation
  • Communication with robots and higher-level control systems
  • Automatic order and data processing
  • High process reliability and traceability
  • Individually adaptable to existing and future production requirements

Typical Applications

  • Fully automated production lines
  • Production environments with a high degree of automation
  • Manufacturing processes with automatic loading and unloading
  • Production lines with integrated robotics
  • Companies looking to further reduce manual operations

Every Project Is Unique.

Our fully automated test systems are not standard products. Every system is individually developed and precisely tailored to our customers’ requirements as part of a higher-level automation concept. The following reference projects illustrate selected solutions implemented in different production environments.

FAQ

Fully automated test systems provide the greatest benefits in high-volume production environments with demanding requirements for productivity, process reliability, and complete traceability.

Yes. Every system is individually adapted to your production environment and can be seamlessly integrated into existing manufacturing lines as well as ERP, MES, and other automation systems.

Yes. Depending on the project, industrial robots can handle the loading and unloading of test specimens. Conveyor systems and other automation components can also be integrated into the overall solution.

The system automatically records all relevant test and production data. Using barcode, RFID, or other identification systems, every test specimen can be uniquely identified and fully traced throughout the testing process.

No. Every system is individually engineered as a custom project and precisely tailored to your products, production processes, and quality requirements.
