Semi-Automated Test Systems

Automated Testing with Flexible Manual Handling

METRUS semi-automated test systems combine the flexibility of manual loading and unloading with an automated testing process. They are designed for production environments where the test specimen continues to be handled by the operator, while the actual testing process is performed automatically and repeatably without further manual intervention.

Each test system is individually developed and adapted to the respective test specimen, testing requirements, and production environment. This allows both new test stations to be implemented and existing testing processes to be gradually automated.

How the Test System Works

The operator identifies the production order or selects the appropriate data set, loads the test bench, and starts the test cycle. The system then automatically performs the entire testing process – for example, filling with water, building up pressure, maintaining the specified test time, and evaluating the test results. All selected tests are carried out sequentially.

Once the testing process is complete, the result is displayed directly on the system and digitally documented. Depending on the configuration, test reports can be generated and test data can be provided in formats such as CSV or XML for further processing.

The systems can be operated as standalone solutions and individually adapted to the respective production and testing requirements.

Benefits

  • Manual loading and unloading for flexible handling
  • Simple selection and adjustment of test parameters via data sets
  • Automatic selection of the data set based on the production order – depending on the order management system
  • Automated and repeatable testing processes
  • Reduced risk of operator errors during the testing process
  • Digital recording and documentation of test results
  • Low training requirements thanks to simple operation
  • Individually adaptable to different testing requirements

Typical Applications

  • Batches with larger quantities of the same type
  • Standalone test stations
  • Production environments with manual loading and unloading
  • Step-by-step automation of manual testing processes
  • Flexible manufacturing with different types of test specimens

Every Project Is Unique.

Our semi-automated test systems are not standard products. Every system is individually developed and precisely tailored to our customers’ requirements. The following reference projects illustrate selected solutions implemented in different production environments.

FAQ

Semi-automated test systems are ideal for companies with low to medium production volumes or manufacturers looking to automate their testing processes step by step. They combine manual handling with automated and repeatable testing procedures.

Yes. In many cases, existing test benches can be modernized or equipped with additional automation features. Together with you, we develop a solution that perfectly matches your existing production environment.

All relevant test results are recorded digitally. Depending on your requirements, test reports can be generated automatically and exported in formats such as CSV or XML or transferred to higher-level systems.

Yes. Since every system is individually engineered, additional testing procedures, interfaces, or automation functions can be integrated whenever your production requirements change.

Our test systems are individually designed for your products. Depending on the application, they can be configured for a wide variety of valves and customized testing procedures.
