Testing B – the third connection

Mixers and splitters

Different to standard control valves mixers and splitters require an additional seat leakage test of the third connection. Only the CSV 50/150 model does require a separate, optional extension. All larger models include this function within the basic scope of functions. Due to the massive forces created during the shell test the third connection needs to be closed with a bolted blind flange. For leak testing the third connection, the air test pressures system is connected to the blind flange via a high pressure coupler.

In case of the CSV 50/150 model forces created by the high pressure shell test are possible to be hold by a three claw clamp, saving the tester from the time to mount a blind flange. The optional extension consists of a swiveling three claw clamp plus a set of automatic seal heads. Pre clamping of the three arm clamp is either solved via a manual spindle and hand wheel or via a water hydraulic piston.
