Pneumatic sequential control

Maximum operational efficiency and safety

The common testing procedure of control or shut off valves includes the following steps: pre filling, evacuation, filling, shell test (pressure test), draining, seat leakage test. Each individual step requires various valves within the filling and pressure system to be opened or closed. Setting up this “configuration” by opening and closing individual valves manually would make the entire procedure complicated and result in false operation regularly.

For easiest operation and to maximize operational safety, METRUS invented the pneumatic sequential control system. By turning a single rotatory switch, the operator cycles through the individual testing procedures steps. A maintenance free pneumatic logic inside the control panel sets the valve configuration required for a specific procedural step. The only step that requires additional operator interaction is the shell test. High pressure will always be controlled via METRUS precision needle valves.
