High pressure water testing

up to 600 bar

There are two main reasons why safety valves are tested with water:

  1. The safety valve is installed on liquid service and needs to be tested with a liquid test fluid.
  2. The safety valve has a set point above 250 bar and for safety or budget reasons high pressure air or gas testing should be avoided.

Option “HP Water” expands the safety valve test benches capability to carry out high pressure water tests. Depending on the specific series, this option includes:

SVM series

  1. An additional needle control valve.
  2. A pneumatic driven liquid pump of suitable pressure up to 600 bar (SVM 4/x max. 560 bar).

SV Series

  1. An additional needle control valve.
  2. A pneumatic driven liquid pump of suitable pressure up to 600 bar.
  3. A closed water circuit consisting of filters, stainless steel tank and filling pump.

+++ Important Notice +++

Option “HD water” utilises the same tubing for both, air- and water testing system. For scenarios requiring separate tubing for those two fluids option “Separated test fluids” needs to be ordered along with the high pressure water test system.

For those who want to test with high pressure water only, METRUS offers each safety valve test bench as a dedicated water testing model.
